Oxford teenager Georgina Polden has set her sights on a top-five finish when a new season of the Aprilia Superteen Challenge gets under way at Brands Hatch next weekend.
The 17-year-old, from Kid-lington, finished 15th in her first season last year, and was also the third best female rider.
Now, after successful testing sessions on her Aprilia RS125 at Cartagena in Spain and Donington Park in Leicestershire, she is looking to step up on those results this term.
She said: “I want a top-five championship finish and hopefully to be able to get on to GP125 for next year.
“Hopefully I can also win the women’s championship.
“I can see the improvements in myself with speed around the corners and when I went out against other riders I was not struggling so much.
“It will be my second year in it and we have a bit more idea what we are doing.”
