BANBURY Bulls stayed top after beating Old Coventrians 31-7 at Bodicote Park to record their eighth straight win.

Both teams had three players yellow carded, but Bulls were never seriously troubled as they secured another bonus-point victory.

Scrum half Eddie Phillips forced his way over for Banbury’s opening try.

Full back Joe Mills and lock Matt Brock added further scores, with fly half Alex Fogavini converting the latter.

The visitors replied with an interception try from Josh Soesan, converted by Alex Telfer, to make it 17-7 at the break.

Coventrians had Paul Wilkes and Pete Griffin yellow-carded, while Chris Phillips was sin-binned for Banbury.

Centre James Heywood shot through the gap for Bulls’ fourth try, converted by Fogavini, but they had hooker Brett Richmond yellow-carded.

Heywood’s second try, converted by Fogavini, completed the scoring for the leaders.

However, there was still time for Telfer and Banbury lock Nick Pratt to be sin-binned.
