A DOZEN Six Bells AC anglers braved the elements at Stable Lake, Kirtlington, on Sunday where Tony Wright took the honours.
Fresh from last week’s win in the Predator Spring Lea-gue, he triumphed with 86lb of carp caught on pole, meat and corn.
Henry Clarke was just behind with 83.0.0 of pole-caught carp on maggot and corn, while John Fisher had 54.5.0 of carp on method feeder with maggot and pellet for third.
The fourth of North Oxford AS’s summer canal series matches was held on the Oxford Canal at Kidlington where very heavy boat traffic again disrupted the fishing.
Paul Passmore had a bag of small roach on squat for a winning 4.7.0.
Alternating between bread and worm, Steve Wildman caught skimmers and a nice perch for 3.9.0, followed by Mike Denton with 3.2.8.
