Aston Rowant, who were promoted to Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League Division 1 following the restructure after the Hertfordshire League clubs departure, are targeting a top-five place.
Wes Morrick’s side, who finished third in Division 2 West last term, retain their squad from 2013 as they prepare for their opener at High Wycombe tomorrow.
They have added Archie Leon, a top-order batsman, who returns after not playing club cricket last season, and Leo Bethell, a young all-rounder from Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts.
Rowant’s batting line-up with the likes of Oxfordshire duo Damian Shirazi and Chris Watling looks strong.
And seamer Karl Penhale has made big strides since playing for Oxford MCC Universities and Oxfordshire this season.
IN: Archie Leon (unattached), Leo Bethell (Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts).
OUT: None.
