GREAT & Little Tew slumped to a 78-run defeat under the Duckworth/Lewis Method in their Division 2 opener at home to Chesham.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl, Tew restricted Chesham to 146-9 from 41 overs, with the innings truncated by rain.
Tew were then handed a revised target of 140, but crashed to 62 all out.
It represented quite a turnaround after Tew had earlier reduced Chesham to 21-5, with Matt Woods (4-30) producing a terrific opening burst.
But Jason Rance (32) and skipper Oliver Turner (31) dug in, before Matthew Rance and Jack Maciver gave the innings late impetus.
However, Tew then capitulated in spectacular style, with Jordan Garrett the only player to reach double figures as Matthew Rance (4-7) and Mark Eteen (3-14) did the damage.
