Former England star Claire Taylor hit a brilliant century to set the MCC Women on the way to a massive 275-run victory over Oxford University Women in The Parks yesterday.

Taylor, who represented England more than 150 times, hammered 124 off 100 balls, with 13 fours and two sixes, as the MCC rattled up a whopping 356-4 from their 50 overs after being put in to bat.

Evelyn Jones made 70 from 76 balls against her old team, while England captain Charlotte Edwards smashed an unbeaten 65 off 32 balls, with nine fours, and Izzy Westbury made 46.

Oxford University were then shot out for 81, with Jenny Hepell (4-11) and Victoria Clarkson (4-15) doing the damage as only captain Tina Gough (31) provided any resistance, with six of her teammates picking up ducks.
