A terrific bowling display saw Horspath send Falkland crashing to 68 all out at the Recreation Ground to set up their first win since returning to Home Counties Premier League Division 2.

However, the triumph wasn't achieved without a scare as Horspath slumped to 19-4 in reply before securing victory without further loss.

Horspath skipper Will Eason put the Newbury-based visitors in to bat after winning the toss, and Pat Foster triggered a dramatic collapse by having opener Daniel Williams caught at square leg in the third over.

Eason trapped James Bloodworth lbw, and then Dean Conradie struck the crucial blow by running out former Hampshire all-rounder Hamza Riazuddin from cover after he was called for a quick single by skipper Bruce Martin.

It was a steady procession after that with Mark Skelton (3-13) going agonisingly close to claiming a hat-trick, having Mark Foster and Nigel Trumper caught by Foster at second slip off consecutive balls, before wicket-keeper Andy Wynd dropped a straightforward chance off George Trewby.

However, that was the only blemish in the field with Foster (3-18) having Ian Slatcher caught at second slip by Will Eason to wrap up the innings inside 27 overs.

But Horspath then got a taste of their own medicine with Riazuddin (3-24) ripping through their top order, before Jehan Mohammed and Foster saw them home off 14.5 overs, with victory secured at 2.40pm.
