Kidlington's Georgina Polden roared to top spot on the podium again in the fourth round of the Aprilia Superteen Challenge at Cadwell Park.

The 17-year-old, who became the series first female race winner in the previous round at Snetterton, repeated the feat at the Lincolnshire circuit.

She took first place in the second of four races over the Bank Holiday weekend, making the podium on each occasion with a brace of seconds and a third-place finish.

Polden said: “It was another successful weekend. I had a few suspension problems throughout the weekend, but managed to hold it all together.”

Qualifying saw Polden finish third on the grid with a fastest lap time of 1min 51.09secs.

Despite not getting the best of starts, she took second and chased Rory Skinner all the way, finishing 0.3secs behind him.

Encouraged by that display, Polden was determined to get back on top of the podium, and after exchanging places with Skinner at the head of affairs throughout the race, she took the lead on the last lap to take the chequered flag.

Polden’s speed had increased considerably from qualifying with her lap times down to 1.47.8.

She started day two second on the grid, and race three saw her again duel with Skinner for the lead until two laps before the finish when Polden was held up by backmarkers, and her rival shot clear to take victory.

However, second place was still another strong finish for the Kidlington racer.

Race four developed into a three-way battle with Polden and Skinner being joined in the quest for glory by Joe Thompson.

Chasing Skinner, Polden’s chances of adding a second win, though, disappeared when she almost spun off, allowing Thompson to swoop through into second place.

Despite her best efforts and a lap time down to 1.46.1, Polden was unable to regain second spot, with Skinner taking victory ahead of Thompson.
