The Oxford Times: Oxford Harlequins Under 11s celebrate their day out at Twickenham Oxford Harlequins Under 11s celebrate their day out at Twickenham

After sharing the Twickenham turf with Lions Owen Farrell and George North, Oxford Harlequins head coach Stuart Wells admits his Under 11 side will be forever reliving their Aviva Premiership Final debut.

As Saracens and Northampton Saints battled it out for glory in Saturday’s final, Oxford Harlequins Under 11s got their moment in the spotlight at half-time.

In front of a sell-out 82,000 crowd, they took part in the Land Rover Cup Parade of Champions.

Not only did Oxford Harlequins Under 11s get to walk on the hallowed Twickenham turf, but they also got to meet World Cup winner Lewis Moody.

Their time to shine was reward for winning a Land Rover Cup festival held by London Irish back in November, and Wells believes his team loved every minute of their experience of a lifetime.

“It was an absolutely exhilarating experience for everyone involved,” he said.

“The kids were more excited about going to Twickenham than any other rugby thing they’ve done so far.”

Land Rover supports grassroots rugby and provides the opportunity for 7000 youngsters to take part in the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup.
