WITH Minster Lovell’s match abandoned, Cowley Internationals took full advantage to move to the top of Division 1, writes DAVID QUINN.

Batting first against Shrivenham, they amassed 241-7 with Harron Khan contributing 63 and Hajji Sadiqi 42.

Despite an unbeaten 57 from Andrew Bowles, the Shrivenham reply fell short on 180-9.

In spite of the gloomy morning conditions, Chadlington held their collective nerve, refusing to call off their match with Charlbury.

They were duly rewarded with an eight-wicket win.

After bowling out their opponents for just 124, Matthew Duester and Martin Shepherd each claiming three wickets, their successful run chase was achieved in the 30th over, Stephen Hunt top-scoring with 71 not out.

Great Horwood’s trip to Hook Norton proved productive as they defeated their hosts by seven wickets.

After dismissing Hooky for 122, Dale Armitage (45no) and Glyn Davies (38no) steered Horwood to 123-3.

There were no such positive returns for Oxenford from their trek to Westbury.

Samir Khan’s 3-26 was not enough to prevent the home side racking up 229-7, with Sam Harper 59 not out and Tom Wilson making 62.

Richard Tredwell then bagged 5-21 as Oxenford were restricted to 150-9.

In the only tie played in Division 2, Stonesfield’s leadership of the section was short-lived as they were overtaken by their conquerors on the day, Radley.

Responding to the opposition’s 157, Tom Gubbins added 30 to his earlier haul of 3-28.

However, this did not prevent defeat for Stonesfield as Atif Liaquat (3-11) helped propel his Radley outfit to an 82-run success, having dismissed the hosts for 75.

In a contest reduced to 35 overs a side, Cairns Fudge closed the gap on Division 3 pacesetters, Wantage, whose own game feel victim to the weather.

Fudge piled on 179-6, with Andy Small helping himself to 73 not out before Marsh Gibbon were limited to 124-9, Jamie Clark the pick of the bowlers with 3-15.

In a thriller played at Cassington, while their own ground is being refurbished, Eynsham were bundled out for 111.

Jason Seacole, with 35, then helped get the Witney Swifts response off to a good start, but after that wickets started to fall.

It was left to No 10, Redd Pratley, with 14 valuable runs, to see his side home by one wicket.

Royston Blake, with 5-26, was the principal destroyer as Wescott were shot out for just 74.

His Fringford side then reached 75-5 in the 20th over to record a five-wicket victory.
