WOMEN'S MATCHES

OXFORDSHIRE enjoyed a dramatic tie with Derbyshire at Elvaston in ECB Women’s County Championship Division 3.

The visitors were all out for 160 in 46 overs, Eleanor Bath making 25.

Derbyshire looked nailed on for victory at 140-5 before collapsing and then losing their last two wickets with the score on 120.

Aside from Bath, Carla Wood’s run-a-ball 19 was the best Oxon fared with the bat, while their cause was helped by 40 extras.

Sarah Sribala-Sundaram took 4-36 and Alice Dyson 3-30.

Rebekah Grimley (45) led the hosts’ reply, with support from Sribala-Sundaram (28) and Lia Kellogg (20).

But Oxon, for whom Ellie Porter claimed 4-46, never gave up.

Lucy Gladdy and Emilia Bartram grabbed two wickets each.

Wood was brought back into the attack to remove Amy Lacey and Holly Beresford when Derbyshire looked set to win.

TWO wickets apiece from Imogen Sumner and Jess Simpson helped Shipton-under-Wychwood ease past Oxford in the Oxfordshire Midweek Women’s League.

The duo combined to good effect as Oxford were restricted to 62-5 in their 20 overs, Jess Pagen making 16 not out and Amy Jones 15.

Emily Day (21no) and Lara Connolly (18) took Shipton to 65-2 in 13.2 overs.

Freeland beat Banbury by 18 runs after Rhian Todd (26no) led them to 94-6.

Amy Freeman (3-18) and Emily Ong (2-8) impressed for Banbury, who could only make 76-6, with Hannah Tweddle hitting 21 and Megan Lovick adding 2-15 to her earlier 19.
