MATTHEW Warner took three early wickets to put Kingston Bagpuize in charge at home to Leighton Buzzard Town 2nd, then returned to mop up the tail and finish with 5-43.

Town were all out for 158, with Dan Jacobs (3-47) also in the wickets.

Opener Marco Cecchini (51) held together Kingston’s reply, which ended successfully on 159-5.

East Oxford clung on for a draw after a brave attempt to chase Chearsley’s 143-9.

The visitors only had 25 overs to bat, during which Muzzamil Rehman hit 31.

But Marc Hignell took 5-35 and Ken Baker bagged 3-40 to leave them on 126-9.

Earlier, the hosts’ innings spanned 39.3 overs and was built around Russell Haynes’s 60. Naeem Khan took 4-15 and Atif Ali 3-33.

Chearsley 14, East Oxford 8

It was a similar story at Great Brickhill 2nd, where Witney Mills had only 20 overs to chase the home side’s 194-7 from 40.

Mills finished on 155-8 after Adam Mayho made 34 and Malcolm Evans thumped 32. Drew Burrows bagged 4-37.

Before tea Chris Jones had scored 54 and Simon Chapman chipped in with 47.

Gt Brickhill 2nd 18, Witney Mills 5

Kimble posted 130-9 from 40 overs at home to Bledlow Ridge, thanks in the main to Bradley Rose (38) and Sam Agace (30). Geoff Tombs (3-36) was the most successful visiting bowler.

Ridge’s reply was reduced by rain to only 20 overs, but they only came up four runs short of victory on 127-3 after openers Rob Hawkins hit 45 and Russ Turner struck 39.

Kimble 8, Bledlow Ridge 8

The top-of-the-table clash between Horley and Blewbury & Wallingford was ruined by rain.

The visitors were struggling on 54-3 from 25 overs when the weather intervened.
