BADMINTON: Cook loses York final
ALEX Cook, of Chinnor, was runner-up in the under 17 York gold mixed competition.
Cook and Toni Woods, of Scotland, went down 22-20, 17-21, 21-17 to Sweden's Ella Soderstrom and Elliott Robertson, of Yorkshire, in an exciting final.
Natalia Mitchell, from Woodstock, took gold in the girls doubles with Abbygael Harris, of Staffordshire, at the Warwickshire under 15 event, winning 10-15, 16-14, 15-12.
Oxford's Ibby Ahmed reached the final of the Northants under 17 bronze tournament, losing 21-17 Mark Amer, of Hertfordshire, in the final.
