BORUC Crucial
Big keeper was back to his best in this one. Top drawer save from Derek Riordan at 0-0. No chance at either goals. HINKEL OK
German full back returned to starting line-up after injury lay-off and did better. Sharper into the tackle and just kept it nice and simple. Also got forward in the second period. CALDWELL Faultless
Continues to be the steady hand at the back. Wasn't to blame for Hibs goals. Another polished display. McMANUS Threat
Skipper scored the first, and created the second with an excellent pass from the backline. But stayed in the dressing room at half-time with a hamstring problem. NAKAMURA Anonymous
Another no-show from the Japanese man who does indeed look as though he wants to be elsewhere. Brought nothing to the party and was subbed again. BROWN Excellent
Shuttled the ball around the midfield area and strong in the tackle. Got forward to support well and good finish to seal the win. Showing some good stuff. Was it a good game? Absolutely thrilling contest on a day not fit for ducks. Both sides went at it from the start, six goals and plenty of action. Game was a credit to both teams. What about the goals? Stephen McManus's neat finish and Cillian Sherdian's fine solo effort had Celtic cruising - but deflected shot just before the break and further finish early in the second from Steven Fletcher made it game on.
Loovens eased the pressure on the home side with a powerful back post header in the 76th minute, and Scott Brown's drilled finish from 18 yards against his old club sealed the win. Celtic's top man? A few put in solid seven out of 10 shifts. But Brown was very influential and produced an excellent performance with the kind of maturity he has to show now. And Hibs best player? Fletcher was a constant threat and his two goals were excellent, even if the first took a nick to deceive Boruc. Derek Riordan had a good first half against his old club but faded, so Fletcher gets the nod. What about the ref? I like Calum Murray as he tries to let games flow and doesn't want to make himself the centre of attention. Only debatable call was decision just to book McDonald for lunge on van Zanten. Luck Bhoy not to see red. Who's up next? Celtic face trip to Rugby Park for Co-operative Insurance Cup quarter-final and will want to emulate their 3-1 league win earlier in the season. HARTLEY Workhorse
Back into the starting XI and was all over the pitch making tackles. Had a hard shift as HIbs were strong in the middle of the pitch, Did well and should be in the team for me. ROBSON Troubled
Reverted to problem left back area and made mistakes for both goals. Never a left back. MALONEY Quiet
Needs to bring more when put in ahead of McGeady. Wanted the ball, but did little when he actually got it. SHERIDAN Brave
Tough shift for the 19-year-old against Jones and Bamba. Nervy early doors, but came on to a game. Superb goal. McDONALD Frustrated
Worked hard and showed great vision with dummy for Sheridan's goal. LOOVENS Powerful
Came on for McManus and produced best display yet. Commanding in the air, good interceptions and scored crucial goal that made it 3-2. McGEADY Busy
Frustrated on bench. But came on and brought a bit of spark, even if final ball is nowhere near as good as last season. McCOURT
Appeared for first time to prove he does exist. Showed some nice touches but will need time to adapt. MANAGER Delighted
Gordon Strachan made four changes from Old Trafford. Defence still looks ropey, but another show full of resilience and desire banked three points. FANS Entertained
Those who braved horrendous conditions saw a cracker - but thousands of empty seats must alarm the Parkhead board.
