Abingdon GC won a superb haul of ten gold medals when they hosted the Oxfordshire novice and open level 5 competition at their Berinsfield headquarters.

Phoebe Teh was in impressive form, winning the open level 5 beam event, and also claiming overall gold.

Laura Perez triumphed on the bars, while Elise Thomas-Collaire came out on top in the vault.

In the over ten age group, Charlotte Billington took gold in the category B floor event.

Rachel Thomas took the honours in the C competition and Leonor De Vazellhes was victorious in the vault.

Eight-year-old Bailie Thomas won her B category floor competition.

In the boys’ event, Tair Anderson struck gold on the floor, while Anna Sugden triumphed in the mixed under ten vault discipline.

Teh also won silver, as did Sophie Hopgood, Charlie Barker, Laura Hempleman, Sophie Houghton, Rachel Thomas, Georgie Downie and Laura Perez.

The club also landed seven bronze medals.

A total of 44 Abingdon gymnasts were entered into the event in what for many was their first taste of county level competition.
