IAN Crosby returns for Oxford’s trip to high-flying Henley in Division 1 tomorrow.

The skipper was expected to serve a two-game ban after being suspended by the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League.

After Oxford’s match at Banbury was washed out, Crosby sat out last week’s game against Harefield, which was abandoned.

But league secretary Peter Tomlin revealed that one of those games has been suspended for the remainder of the year, making Crosby eligible for this weekend.

Tomlin said: “It is a two-game ban, however one of them is suspended for the rest of the season.”

Crosby replaces Brad Sutherland (unavailable) in the side, while Shami Mendis, who was unavailable last week, is in for Ian Evans.

Sean Thornton has returned to Barbados after finishing university, so Nick Hands takes his place.

Wicket-keeper Michael Bates is still with Somerset.

With Henley sitting top of the table after seven successive victories, Crosby says his side have nothing to lose.

He added: “No one expects us to get anything from the game.

“The pressure is off and it is a very good test for us.

“If we play well and put on a decent performance we can give them a good game and cause an upset.”

Gloveman Jasper Davies is unavailable for Horspath’s home encounter against third-placed Slough.

Andy Roberts comes in, while Adam Mould is named in the 12-man squad.

Captain Will Eason said: “Slough are a strong team.

“But we are in this league to play a better standard of cricket and this week won’t be any different.”

Banbury host Reading after an entertaining draw with High Wycombe on Saturday.

Luke Ryan’s side are fourth in the table, a place and 16 points ahead of this weekend’s opponents.

Seamer Olly Wright is in for Will Briggs.
