ANDY Harris is calling on his Great & Little Tew side to put teams to the sword ahead of their Division 2 encounter at Dinton tomorrow.

Tew sit top of the table after seven matches and lead Finchampstead by 21 points.

Harris’s side beat Gerrards Cross by five wickets last time out and he is keen for Tew to keep improving.

“Based on the start of the season, I would like to see us put a little more pressure on teams,” the skipper said.

“We have a tendency to let our foot off the gas at times.

“It would be nice to see us hammer home a result.”

Aston Rowant travel to Cove without unavailable left-arm spinner Sasha Barras, who took 6-63 in last week’s draw at Amersham.

Rain came to save Rowant on Saturday after they crashed to 9-4 and captain Josh Smith is looking for a better batting performance in Hampshire.

He said: “You can’t be 9-4 and win a game, it certainly does not happen very often.”

All-rounder Wes Morrick returns to replace Barras, while George Reid is in for Dominic Whatman.

Shipton-under-Wychwood skipper Simon Hole is demanding a reaction from Saturday’s draw at Finchampstead when they host Datchet.

The weather also came to their rescue after they conceded a club record score of 322-7 off 56 overs.

And Shipton were in trouble at 92-8 until the heavens opened.

Hole said: “We played terribly last week and have a lot to improve upon.”

Craig Wood replaces Liam Hare.
