OXFORDSHIRE racer Sean Walkinshaw aims to sign-off his maiden season in the Blancpain Sprint Series on a high note at Zandvoort, Holland, this weekend.
This follows a frustrating time at Misano, San Marino, last week.
The 21-year-old, from Chipping Norton, and Nissan GT-R NISMO GT3 co-driver Craig Dolby saw a rostrum slip from their grasp in the qualification race, due to a cross-threaded wheel nut during the pitstop.
They then finished fifth in the main race, leaving them tenth in the standings ahead of the last round.
Walkinshaw said: “Considering where we were after the first stint in the qualification race, we should comfortably have had two podiums – we had fastest lap in both races with Craig and we both had mega pace."
Walkinshaw added: “It’s great to be back in the car so soon after Misano.
“We were very unlucky not to be on the podium.
“I know we'll have a great package again at Zandvoort.”
