SAMAD Fallah took six wickets as Oxford moved up to third in Division 2 following a 14-run victory over rivals Shipton-under-Wychwood.

Hosts Oxford were dismissed for 190, but left-arm seamer Fallah then claimed 6-81 as Shipton fell short.

After being put into bat, Shahbaz Alam, who top-scored with 61 off 100 balls, including eight fours and a six, put on a first-wicket stand of 97 with Vishane Perera (42) to steer the home side into a strong position.

But they struggled to 135-5, with Anupam Sanklecha (5-63) proving a thorn in their side.

Shami Mendis (34) provided stability, but with wickets falling around him Oxford were all out for a chaseable 190.

Shipton found themselves in a strong position on 134-3, thanks to Calvin Dickinson (71).

But after he was dismissed, the visitors went on to lose six wickets for 42 runs as they were bowled out for 176.

Rameez Raja’s second century for leaders Horspath lit up a dull draw at second-placed Buckingham Town.

Raja hit a brilliant 108 off 99 balls, with four sixes and 12 fours, to take his side to 256-9 after they had been put in to bat.

He put on 129 for the fourth wicket with Harrison Ward (59).

William Thompson finished with 5-84 for Buckingham, while Jack Parish picked up 3-94.

Buckingham made no attempt to go for the runs, closing on 166-5 from 55 overs.

Leigh Tomlinson contributed a laborious 37 not out from 134 balls, while Jack Parish hit an unbeaten 40 from as many deliveries.

Andrew Dyer took 6-37 as Aston Rowant beat Cookham Dean by seven wickets.

The visitors were in a good position on 74-2, but thanks to Dyer and Gordon Harris (4-35) they lost eight wickets for 45 runs to finish on 119 all out.

Opener Miles Hammond led the way for Rowant, hitting 69 off 57 deliveries, as they reached 120 in the 25th over.

Thame Town fell to a seven-wicket defeat at Amersham.

The visitors were immediately on the backfoot, falling to 4-3.

Matt MacDonald (42) and Sam Lachlan put on 67 for the fourth wicket, but the lower order offered no resistance as they were skittled for 102.

Amersham made quick work of chasing down the total, reaching 103 for the loss of three wickets after 27.3 overs.
