NIGEL Hume blasted an incredible 46-ball century as leaders Faringdon thrashed visitors Minster Lovell to stay unbeaten in Division 1 of the OCA League.

A delayed start saw the match reduced to 30 overs a side, and Minster were bowled out for 138, Connor Tinsley top-scoring with 42, and Ben Marks taking 3-28 for the hosts.

But Faringdon were in a hurry in their reply to get a win in before the rain returned, and Hume’s stunning century, plus 36 not out from Rob Owen, saw them to a ten-wicket victory in just 12.4 overs.

Wayne Lyford, who earlier claimed 3-19, then scored 97 not out to steer West Ilsley to 140-4.

The target score method was used at Sunningwell, who ran out five-wicket winners against Deddington.

The visitors set 125-9 in their rain-reduced 35 overs, Maneesh Verma top-scoring with 40 and James Stacey taking 3-30.

Rain again intervened, knocking a further ten overs off Sunningwell’s reply, but chasing a revised target of 98 in 25 overs, Sunningwell reached 99-5 as Stacey hit 52.

Watlington edged out hosts Minster Lovell 2nd by three runs in a thrilling low-scoring clash.
