TABLE-TOPPING Faringdon were brought crashing back down to earth with a humiliating 91-run defeat at Yarnton & Cowley in Division 1.

It had all looked bright for Faringdon as they dismissed their hosts for 138 in the OCA League encounter, Nigel Hume leading the way with 5-38.

But they had no answer to the bowling of Muaz Ahmed (6-11) and Mohammed Zia Hameed (3-9) as they were shot out for just 47 to crash to their first defeat.

Charlbury moved back up to second place after beating hosts Chipping Norton by 74 runs.

Ben Geeson-Brown (43) and Graham Atkins (42) led Charlbury to 249-9.

Chippy fell for 175, despite 63 from Ian Widdows and 58 from Ben Millard, Geeson-Brown taking 4-27.

Minster Lovell’s title hopes suffered a setback as they lost by three wickets at home to Stonesfield.

Tom Gubbins starred with the ball as his 6-34 sent Minster crashing to 141 all out, before Tim Wyatt (54) and Andy Crawford (32) led Stonesfield to 144-7.

Shrivenham saw off hosts Oxenford by 24 runs.

The visitors were all out for 159, James Harris hitting 36 not out and Habeel Khalid taking 4-46.

Youngster Charan Chahal then claimed 4-48 as Oxenford fell for 135.

Great Horwood’s Sam Willett scored his second consecutive Division 1 century in helping his side to an eight-run win at Radley.

Willett hit 109 in Horwood’s 240-6, before Olly Prendergast (4-45) and Haydon Morrison (3-64) combined to dismiss the hosts for 232, Amir Faruq hitting 72 and Abdur Rashid Khan 64.

Division 2 leaders East & West Hendred marched on with a four-wicket win over visitors Cairns Fudge.

Jon Francis took 4-35 to restrict Fudge to 163 all out, despite 98 from Tom Small.

Dom McKenna (48) and Carl Palmer (38no) then led the way with the bat as Hendred reached 167-6.

Wolvercote stayed in touch with a thrilling two-run win at Wootton & Boars Hill.

They posted 253-7 as Darren Jones and Ben Proctor each scored 56.

Shaun Morton’s 98 not out led Wootton’s reply, but they fell for 251 as Tim MacIntyre took 3-64 and Sam Payne 3-65.

A third-wicket stand of 147 between Alimar Khan (87) and Mark Strong (67) set Westcott on their way to a 120-run win at home to Kilkenny in Division 3.

They posted 266-7, which proved way beyond Kilkenny, who slumped to 146 all out in reply as Khan took 4-46 to complete a fine all-round performance.

Risinghurst stay top of Division 4 after beating hosts West Ilsley by nine wickets.

Three wickets apiece for Martin Kalyan, Ripon Masih and Rakesh Nambiar saw Risinghurst dismiss Ilsley for 91.

Kalyan (50no) and Sandeep George (35no) then led their side to 93-1.

BRILL’S hopes of going top of Division 5 were dashed as they fell to a 31-run defeat at Great Horwood 2nd.

A win would have put Brill top, but a superb fourthwicket stand of 151 between Simon Ridgway (99) and Simon Gale (65no) helped Horwood to 210-6.

Andrew Ellison then took a hat-trick in figures of 5-20 as Brill were bowled out for 179, Jeremy Mansfield hitting 65.

Britwell Salome picked up their second win, running out 53-run victors at Garsington.

After being bowled out for 139, Britwell dismissed their hosts for just 86 as Zaffir Hussain took 4-30.

Charlbury 2nd impressively saw off visitors Chipping Norton 2nd by 57 runs.

Charlie Sinton was again the main man for Charlbury, topscoring with 47 in his side’s 208-9, before taking 4-34 as Chippy were bowled out for 151.

Kennington kept their promotion challenge on track with a five-run win at home to Hook Norton.

Russell Vircavs hit 35 in his side’s 106 all out, before claiming 4-16 as Hook Norton were bowled out for 101.

In Division 6, Naser Khan returned brilliant figures of 7-17 as leaders Wolvercote 2nd saw off visitors East & West Hendred 2nd by six wickets.

Khan’s haul sent Hendred tumbling to 105 all out, and then Nicolas Pinhol hit 38 not out in Wolvercote’s 106-4.

Radley 2nd stayed in second place, courtesy of a 140-run win at home to Hanney.

Davison Matthews (62) and Rezwan Rana (60no) led the way in Radley’s 245-4, before Richard Cook, who had contributed 48 not out with the bat, claimed 4-26 as Hanney fell to 105 all out.

Scott Winskill’s century helped Shrivenham 2nd to a two-wicket win against visitors Kidlington 2nd.

Simon Smith (80no) helped Kidlington to set 168-8.

But Winskill scored 100 not out to steer his side to 169-8, despite 6-66 from Sam Milburn.

Tetsworth 2nd eased to a 59-run win at Faringdon 2nd.

Reggie Isaac hit 52 not out in Tetsworth’s 187-9, and then Mohammed Kami took 4-30 to help dismiss the hosts for 128, despite 65 from Kevin Huxtable.

Combe marched on at the top of Division 7 with an 80-run win at Kilkenny 2nd.

Combe posted 261-8 as Julian Chaundy hit 84 and John Francis 53.

Josh Bishop (92no) provided stern resistance for Kilkenny, but they fell for 181 as Robbie Nicholson took 4-52.

Division 8 leaders Stanton Harcourt 2nd were far too strong for hosts Sunningwell 2nd in a 173-run victory.

Ian Urquart top-scored with 56 as Stanton posted 232-8.

Declan Wastie then claimed 4-8 as Sunningwell were shot out for 59.

In Division 9, Hook Norton 2nd’s Grant Wallis hit a brilliant 168 not out in his side’s seven-wicket win at home to Hanney 2nd.

Steve Lewis had earlier hammered 147 for Hanney in their 295 all out, but Wallis’s brilliant knock led Hooky to 296-3 and victory.

MINSTER Lovell picked up the first silverware of 2016 after beating Great Horwood by six wickets on finals day of the Tony Pullinger Twenty20 Cup at Kidlington.
