MASONS Arms began their Johnsons Buildbase Oxford & District Summer League bid with a 3-3 draw at Donnington Club, writes PETE EWINS.
The hosts won the opener through Mellissa Standbridge, who beat Mick Murphy with 3,880 points.
But Alan Lowe saw off Stuart Florey to level the match for the visitors.
Dennis Atkins (7,810) and Florey (6,380) restored Donnington’s lead, but Masons hit back in the final leg.
Martyn Wood was the hero, beating Atkins to force a tie.
Gladiators and Bletchingdon also played out a 3-3 draw.
Neil Cunliffe, Dave Jarman and Dave Gordon, who went behind the black, won for Glad’s, while Pete Soanes, Andy Skinner and Shaun Brookbanks replied for Bletchingdon.
