HENLEY Hawks conceded three tries in the last 20 minutes as Cinderford came from behind to win 30-23 at the Beavis Memorial Ground.

George Jackson and Cinderford’s James Moffatt traded early penalties.

Despite giving away nine penalties in the first half of the National League 2 South clash, Hawks had the better of the exchanges and Brad Cook forced his way over.

Jackson added the extras to make it 10-3.

But the visitors immediately had Dave Clements sin-binned and the hosts made the extra man count, with Harry Robinson touching down. Moffatt converted.

Jackson and Moffatt exchanged penalties either side of the break, before Hawks stretched their advantage to seven points when Xavier Andre raced over and Jackson converted.

However, the hosts hit back as Ciaran Knight forced his way over and Moffatt added the extras to make it 20-20.

Cinderford’s George Porter and Henley’s Zaki Chamnaiou were sin-binned leading to uncontested scrums and it looked to benefit the home side.

Robinson and Alex Frame went over for unconverted tries to make it 30-20.

Jackson kicked a penalty late on to earn Hawks a bonus point.
