IT’S been a fantastic week at Oxford United.

The team have progressed to the next round in two cup competitions, which has given everyone a great boost. We are two steps from Wembley in the Checkatrade Trophy.

It shows how far the club has progressed that there is now an expectation to do well in the cups.

The uplift it gives the entire community is tangible and we are all looking forward to building further.

Winning against Rotherham and Scunthorpe has netted the club just over £100,000 in prize money.

This is a real bonus, as it is not budgeted for, and helps towards the running costs.

The away support at Rotherham was magnificent.

Darryl and I went in the away end and enjoyed the atmosphere and buzz of being part of the first-class backing of the team.

The Yellow Army made such a difference and Michael Appleton commented to me this week that it helps the players home and away.

The superb support was underpinned this week as we sold out our allocations for AFC Wimbledon and Swindon away.

Sales in the shop before Christmas summed up the support perfectly, with orders coming in from as far afield as America, Africa, Australia and Asia.

We sold almost 1,000 kits and printed names on 1,100 shirts.

The club staff have been excellent in during this busy period.

We have so much to look forward to, starting tomorrow, as we unite again to cheer on the team together.

See you in the away end.
