WITNEY beat Royal Wootton Bassett 32-17 on Saturday, despite playing with only 14 men for over an hour.
The west Oxfordshire side had centre Callum Godfrey sent off after 12 minutes of the South West 1 East clash.
But four tries and 12 points from the boot of fly half Henry Lamb helped Witney to victory.
Tug Wilson’s side made a disastrous start, when Godfrey was red-carded and Scott Mortimer also left the field due to injury.
Moments later, Gavin Ougan scored an interception try for Bassett and the visitors went on to lead 10-3 after 21 minutes.
Witney’s Lamb kicked a penalty, but Ollie Smith crossed for the Wiltshire side.
But the hosts dug deep and Gareth Campbell’s try, converted by Lamb, saw them level the match.
Witney raced into a 14-point lead after the break, thanks to a forwards try and a Rhys Morgan score.
A Lamb penalty made it 27-10, before Mahue Dewes crossed for the visitors.
The hosts had the final word, though, as Morgan streaked over to make it 32-17.
Witney are next in action on Saturday, when they travel to Oxfordshire rivals Grove.
In the BB&O Championship, Chipping Norton claimed a 29-10 home win over Harwell.
