MARTIN Robinson finished well ahead of the field of 15 anglers when North Oxford AS fished for the Fair Rosamund Trophy on the Oxford Canal at Aristotle Lane.
Robinson alternated between bread and worm to record 8lb 8oz 0drms of skimmers and perch.
Pete Armstrong, who had a rare winter 2.8.0 tench from the Canal for the second year running, was second with 3.12.0, followed by Dave Scott-Picton on 2.5.0.
A net of small fish caught on the pole was enough for Ron Hillier to win Kidlington AS’s Green Road SC Cup on the Oxford Canal at Grovelands.
Using punched bread on the hook, Hillier recorded 1.9.0 to pip runner-up Henry Clarke (1.7.8) and Terry Lester (1.0.4).
