NORTH Leigh boss John Brough hopes their season of cup success finishes with one more scalp tonight when they face Oxford United in the Oxfordshire Senior Cup final.

The U’s are five divisions above their opponents from the Evo-Stik Southern League Division 1 South & West, but will field a youthful side.

Brough has steered the Millers to their best runs in the Emirates FA Cup and FA Trophy in his first season at Eynsham Park and would love to cap it off with a trophy.

He said: “You have a chance in any match. I want the club to have some silverware at the end of what’s been a successful season.

“We have no given right to lift the trophy but I think the players have deserved it for the efforts they have put in.”

The game is being held at Thame United’s ASM Stadium, where North Leigh have knocked out Thame Rangers and Oxford City in their run.

United’s young guns needed extra-time to beat Banbury United 3-2 in their semi-final.

Boss Michael Appleton said: “They showed a lot of character and they will have to do it again in the final.”

Centre back Stuart Hole will continue to deputise as a makeshift goalkeeper for North Leigh.
