DAN Jenkins clinched nine medals at the South East Region’s Winter Championships.

It marked a superb two days for City of Oxford in Portsmouth.

The event was also the south east’s selection meet for the Flanders Cup in Antwerp, Belgium, on January 20-21, with Jenkins, David Murphy, Toby Mackay-Champion, Callum Smart and Lewis Gilchrist making the team.

Jenkins, 16, won three open medals, clinching gold in the 100m backstroke, before taking bronze across 50m.

In the 200m event, he came second behind clubmate Gilchrist, with Nick Skelton third for an all City podium.

Jenkins added to his haul with wins in the junior 100m and 200m backstroke, as well as the 200m and 400m freestyle.

He also took silver in the 100m freestyle and 50m backstroke.

Murphy, 19, won gold in the open 50m and 100m breaststroke.

He beat Smart and Mackay-Champion, who took silver and bronze respectively, in both.

There was another clean sweep in the 200m breaststroke, with Mackay-Champion, 20, finishing ahead of Murphy and Smart.

Mackay-Champion took bronze in the 50m and 100m events.

Smart, 17, triumphed in the 200m individual medley (IM).

Gilchrist, 17, won the open 400m IM.
