DRENNAN Oxford Blue carried off the team honours in the fourth round of the Angling Trust Oxford Winter League, fished by six teams of eight on the Kennet and Avon Canal at Upper and Lower Dunmill, Hungerford.

But their leading angler Carl Eland had to settle for third place on 12lb 6oz 0drms in the individual competition, which was dominated by the end pegs.

The event was won by John Taylor (Sensas A4), who had mainly perch for 15.12.0.

Steve Townsend (Drennan Oxford Aqua) was runner-up with 13.8.0.

Team result: 1 Drennan Oxford Blue 38pts, 2 Drennan Oxford Aqua 33, 3 Sensas Reading 29.

League standings: 1 Drennan Oxford Blue 8pts, 2 Drennan Oxford Aqua 10, 3 Sensas Reading 12.

Don Spearpoint dominated Littlemore AS’s Vice-Presidents Cup, fished by 20 anglers at Sandford.

Not only did he win the match with two chub for 5.4.0, but he also took the £198 golden peg.

Paul Hitchman was second on 3.3.0, while Kevin Dolton and Steve Pitson shared third spot with just r ounces.

Hitchman won the Knockout Cup, defeating Pete Clarke who failed to catch.

Jason Bean netted 12.13.0 of mainly roach on maggot to win North Oxford AS’s Pixie Shield on the Thames at Godstow.

He was followed by Dave Scott-Picton’s 10.4.0 of perch, with Dave Britnell in third place on 6.5.0.
