CHINNOR ran in eight tries to convincingly beat mid-table Worthing 50-10 at Kingsey Road.

The National League 2 South high-fliers picked up a bonus-point win to remain four points behind leaders Cinderford, whom they face this weekend.

The home side took a 7-0 lead on eight minutes after Tom Jubb went over.

Worthing replied with an unconverted try, but Chinnor’s Orisi Nawaqaliva raced over under the posts to make it 14-5 at the break.

The visitors reduced the deficit to four points, but the floodgates opened in favour of the hosts in the remaining half-an-hour.

Phil Chesters crossed and Chinnor went on to run in five tries in the last 15 minutes.

Danny Barnes (2), Greg Goodfellow, Will Bordill and Keiran Goss dived over to secure a bonus-point victory.

Jonny Bentley converted five of the eight scores.

Matthew Tibbatts scored a hat-trick of tries as Henley Hawks beat Broadstreet 42-12.

The bonus-point win has helped the south Oxfordshire side climb three places to sixth in the table.

The No 8 went over in the first minute, before David Hyde also crossed to make it 14-0.

Broadstreet battled back to cut Henley’s lead to two points at half-time.

Hawks then extended their lead and ran away with the match, when Tibbatts (2), George Primett and Scott White all crossed.

George Jackson converted all six of Henley’s tries.
