OXFORD Hawks’ march to the South League Premier Division title suffered a major blip with a nightmare 6-3 defeat at London Wayfarers.

Despite taking an early lead through Will Heywood’s individual goal, the visitors inexplicably conceded three goals in eight minutes midway through the first half.

Andy Watts pulled one back early in the second half, but Hawks conceded three more on the counter.

Jack Biggs netted a late penalty for the visitors, who still head the title by three points with three games to play, despite their sub-standard display.

Despite twice taking the lead, Oxford had to settle for 2-2 draw at home to PHC Chiswick in Regional 1.

The hosts dominated the game and led 1-0 at half-time through Sean Cox.

Chiswick equalised through a harshly-awarded penalty flick.

Oxford retook the lead through Cox’s second goal from a well-worked short corner with eight minutes to go, but they failed to hold on.

Witney scored after just 30 seconds on the way to an astonishing 12-1 victory at home to Tring in Regional 2.

Rob Manson (4), Ben Moss (4), Rory Heslop (3) and Jacob Deacon scored for the hosts, who had beaten Tring only 2-1 earlier in the season.
