YOUNGSTER Liam Turnbull slammed a spectacular maiden century to help Wantage defeat hosts Welford Downlanders by 31 runs in their Downs League T20 match.
The 14-year-old opener made 116 not out, reaching his hundred off 57 balls.
Turnbull, who struck five sixes and 12 fours, shared an opening stand of 150 with Jim Head (47).
Downlanders were not fazed by this total, replying with an impressive 170-6 from their 20 overs.
