BICESTER’S Les Hill collected the £100 first prize after winning the fifth round of the Ace Tackle and Bait sponsored Oxford Carp League on Barston Lake, West Midlands.
In windy conditions, Hill caught mainly carp plus 18lb of silver fish for a total of 70lb12oz 0drms.
Andy Pickford (Benson) took second spot with 45.8.0, while local Coventry-based angler Dave Roberts was third with 45-2-0, narrowly pipping Kidlington’s Paul Burton (45.0.0).

Littlemore bowed out of the second round of the Angling Times/Bait-Tech Clubman
Supercup.
They lost 4-2 on points to South Cerney at Hunts Corner Pond.

Thomas Need got the season off to a flier by winning Littlemore’s Chairman’s Cup on the Thames at Sandford, against 17 rivals.
He landed a cracking 19.3.0 of roach. Jason Bean was second on 13.1.0, while Chris Webb came third on 11.4.0.
Three tench, the biggest weighing 6.10.0, helped Jamie Godfrey to win the sixth round of Yarnton & District’s Summer League at Hunts Corner Pond on Linear Fisheries.
Godfrey caught 19.4.0 to finish clear of runner-up Jamie Pancott (13.5.0) and third-placed Pete Oliver (7.7.0).

Beehive AC had a pairs match on Panshill’s Wood Lake, where the fish went on a feeding frenzy in first place.
Kevin Jeacock smashed the club record with 303lb carp to pole and paste.
Martin Wilkinson was second with 219, while Les Radford came third with 206.
Jeacock and Ashley Davis won the pairs with 452lb.
