Bratt ready for GP2 return Bratt ready for GP2 return

Banbury racing driver Will Bratt returns to track action just over a week from now when rounds three and four of the 2009/2010 GP2 Asia Series take place at the Yas Marina facility in Abu Dhabi.

Almost 13 weeks have passed since the championship-opening event at the Middle Eastern venue back in November in support of the final Grand Prix of the 2009 Formula One World Championship, a race meeting in which the Party Poker Racing.com backed driver underlined his GP2 potential.

Although his maiden GP2 Asia Series weekend was compromised by a brake failure in race two while dueling on the fringes of the top ten, Bratt went on to excel in the official GP2 test at Paul Ricard HTTT in France just over a week later with a tremendous top four performance for Scuderia Coloni.

“It’s been a long break since November’s race so I can’t wait to get back in the car”, said the 21-year-old, “We had a good showing last time in Abu Dhabi and I’m feeling quietly confident we can improve and push further forward this time. The Paul Ricard test went very well, I felt comfortable and the extra track time helped me adapt to the GP2 car more which was the chief aim.”

In GP2 Asia, championship points are scored by the top eight in race one and the top six finishers in race two.

He added: “It’s vital we hit the ground running at Yas Marina and qualify as strongly as possible so we can challenge for two good results.

"I’m thoroughly enjoying being a GP2 driver, it’s the premier championship outside Formula One, and I plan to have a successful weekend in Abu Dhabi for Party Poker Racing.com and the whole Scuderia Coloni team.”
