When the new season starts if Potter uses weights and gets really fit he could take us to the next level...his finishing isn't the best but I am a big fan of his ad so I hope he gets back quickly trains hard in the off season and gets us some goals in the 2012/13 season

all the best Alfie hope you recover. no great loss to us really though although hes a fans favourite when you look at what he does in home games its actually very little. alot of running into the corner resulting in a crap cross or gets near the goal and doesnt know what to do. as for Oxford we wont be going up and come march 3rd swindon will be top and we will be out of play off positions,

Disco80 - i bet you have made your own player feel great with your comments but your spot on i hope with us top of the league and you out of the play offs. Accrington are the team to watch as they are on a run and dont rule out Crewe putting a run together.

Nothing wrong with his strength - some of the greatest forwards in most leagues are very light and with extra weight would be less nimble . Get back soon Alfie - and on the wing (I say there not because of his size) .

Get well soon Alfie. You will be missed without a doubt. Shame there was no cover sorted during the transfer window but emergency loan window should allow us to get another decent winger (or 2 for back up) until the end of the season. Luckily, we've played all the good teams, so with our easy run of games coming up over the next couple of months we should get away with it.

alfies injury is the worst possible luck for both him and the club as he was just beginning to show his best form, and coming on top of the tom craddock injury is a major blow. we can only hope that both make full recoveries but in the near future our attacking options look extremely limited so we must hope that our recent signings can make a significant impact for us.

just turned on tv and saw mass brawl in rugby international but no one sent off, hard to imagine a more stupid game, even at the top level the booze culture rules as in the recent tindall discipline case when his excuse that he was so drunk that he did not know what he had done or where he had been was accepted by the the powers that be,even though it was in the middle of aworld cup tournament.the mind boggles.

Not our best goal scorer, but he causes a lot of probems in the opposition penalty area. He gives our forwards another option to scoring. He will be missed. That is 3 we have out on longb term injuries.

Its like Groundhog day on this thread.

Don't like to hear of injuries like this even if its for the Pox - can take a while to get over.

Nothing new with punch ups in Rugby - or with referees being treated with great respect

If you break an ankle, it's never the same again, even when completely healed. Alfie's break is really bad in football terms and will take months to get over. Could be a career changing decision.

Let's hope that like Cole (yukk but a hell of a player) he recovers very well "On 10 February 2010, Cole suffered a fractured left ankle in the 2–1 defeat against Everton that kept him out of action for three months. He eventually made his return against Stoke City, a game which Chelsea won 7–0. Cole scored a goal against Wigan on the last day of the Premier League in an 8–0 win as Chelsea claimed the title.
He started all 38 league games for Chelsea in the 2010–11 season. He was awarded the Chelsea F.C. Player's Player of the Year award for the second time."

If Old 'not King ' Cole can recover so well then so can young Alfie. Many overcome ankle breaks and leg breaks - step forward quickly the great Dave Mackay
