Silkmen turn to ex-Oxford United boss

Brian Horton Brian Horton

Former Oxford United manager Brian Horton has taken over at Macclesfield Town.

The 63-year-old has been appointed boss at Moss Rose until the end of the season following Gary Simpson’s sacking on Sunday.

Horton was in charge of the U’s between 1988 and 1993.

Meanwhile, former United striker Andy Scott has been sacked as Rotherham manager following Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Oxford.
