After alot of early season promise your season fell apart. I did say at the start of the season that it is a marathon and not a sprint and look at the Oxford stats over the last few years and you always fade away in the last quarter of the season which is what i predicted would happen to you.
Now the season is over Oxford players can now see there is more ambition at other clubs than Oxford have and dont be surprised to see other players leave ie Constable particulalry the way you lot treated him in january with your abuse to him.

The difference down the road is we ended up as

L2 Champions
Player of the Year
Manager of the year
Programme of the year

Did you say 'Programme of the Year'? I bet you didn't get much sleep the night that was announced.

It appears your manager is in a bit of hot water at the moment anyway with his 'alleged' remarks towards Mr Tehoue. An incident which was apparently reported by your own players, if reports are to be believed. I would probably be looking a bit closer to home before taking a swipe at Oxford.

As for Asa Hall, he had an offer from a team in a league above on more money that is also closer to his home. It is a no brainer really for him. I personally don't think it is a big loss, for 90% of his time here he has underperformed.

Lets just see who we get to replace him.

The Manager says...
1:37pm Tue 15 May 12

Good luck to Asa Hall probably didn't like playing 4 3 3 like some other players you could name. If the chances arise could be a couple more go. Wilder needs to be a bit more flexible with formations and tactics. We have to hope that the door is now opening for perhaps more experienced players to come in. Not quite sure about the coaching situation though when a figure of 70,000 per year was mentioned by Wilder for another coach to come in for fitness training. Surely somebody should be shown the door for failing to keep the players fit!!!!

Ox85 - i think you will find that a supposed comment was made which was dealt with in March and it was at the time that Tehoue was told he wasnt good enough. On the day in question Tehoue wasnt even present when a supposed comment was made it is all hear say passed on to Tehoue by someone else but like alot of other fans in L2 you get on the HATE campaign of Di Canio and you know nothing about the guy.

You are a sad jealous individual as he has had success this season and is passionate about what he does and wants to be successful. If Passion is a crime and he instills it into his players which is why he is animated on the touchline.

Interestingly enough now the season is over the amount of Oxford fans that have stated that they wish Di Canio was at Oxford United is unreal after all the slating you lot gave him in August.

I'd rather be where we are than where you are as we are on the up and are going to surprise a few clubs in L1 next season as for Oxford i see a mediocre season.

I will be back when all this rubbish about Di Canio is over as Orient dont want Tehoue we dont want him and the guy is bang out of order for what he has done.

Great logic LeGod - so if if a club is in a higher division then it is a bigger club is it? I am sure that Wednesday looked up last season to big Donny and Barnsley!! Just as well they have got promoted to get up to Barnsley's size isn't it! 1974-75 Manurenited looking up to big Carlisle was it? Great laugh - thanks. Shroosbury's crowds were much lower than ours last season - even though their home form was far far better . Your logic made Carlisle bigger than Manure for one season classic

The truth is Turner is a much better manager than Wilder. Turner has recognised Hall has got talent and Hall wants to play in his set up. Wilder will not get the players in that we need. They will not want to come to Oxford. anybody that disagrees with Wilder gets sent out on loan.

The players have a responsibilty to keep themselves fit and if they don't its another indication of poor management. What on earth are Lewis and Melville paid for. What decent professional wants to join a set up like this.

Basically you are making yourselves look a right load of chumps !!

There are one or two on here who make sense, and resist the temptation to take out their obvious disappointment of another season collapsing in a heap, on a post from a supporter from another club.

Think on the positive - normally the collapse happens around Xmas time, at least you managed Easter this season.

If you disagree with any of us - be sensible like one or two on here and come back with a good informative post not some idiotic name calling drivel.

You have lost me i dont really know what you are trying to say, i seem to remember our last seasons in league 1 and 2 before going non-league our support was around 5 to 6 thousand averages not great. We have good solid support but this wont grow significantly even if we were in championship it would probly only be just filling the kassam and that would be with proper away support coming. look at this website http://european-foot
ball-statistics.co.u
k/englandcontent.htm big averages in lots of other teams. One name Robert Maxwell obviously screwed us then and now really aswell,

How could I have lost you? It started simply with you saying to me "get with it we are not a big club". I had not said that we are 'big' - but that we are far far bigger than most Div 4 clubs and are bigger than most (about two thirds) of next season's Div 3 clubs. We have underachieved for about 12 consecutive years!! - you know that. The other 'very big ' clubs (by Div 4 standards), Plymouth, Bradford and Rovers have not had such a bad spell. They have stayed in the League and have spent much time above Div 4 . Luton's struggles have been for much less than 12 years. United fans should not be anywhere near satisfied with 9th in Div 4 (10th if Vale had not been docked points). We U's fans must be expecting United to end in the top three next season (play offs are something of a lottery). That will only happen if we much strengthen the team (we need to sign six players who are of at least Div 3 standard - and to get tactics right) . That has to be clear , surely

Not just went up kidda... but went up as champions, 5pts clear of second place, 25pts in front of Oxford and winning 12 more games than you. Not to mention scalping teams from all 3 higher divisions, reaching the 4th round of the FA cup and a tin pot final day out at Wembley. And all of the above done playing superb attacking football.

Compared to Oxfords 9th place finish, (10th if Port Vale hadnt been deducted 10pts) i'd say this would be a season to forget for you.

Seriously though, it would have been great if you could have joined us in the league above next season. I think for that to happen a lot of changes are needed, starting with Wilder.

Good day Oldun, thought i'd answer some of your above questions:

Q. No History?
A. The city of Oxford is full of history, the football club isn't

Q. No Money?
A. Well if Oxford utd have cash, it has been invested poorly.

Q. Why increase capacity?
A. Because a 3 sided ground is embarrassing.

Q. Marks?
A. Not sure myself to be fair.

But forgetting all of the above, what this season has come down to is this... Us Swindon fans are still (and will be for a while) angry and dissapointed to have lost twice to our local rivals.

On the other hand however, over the course of the season Swindon have been superior, have been much better to watch and have shown real passion and commitment to gaining promotion, which are all things Oxford fans could only dream of.

Enjoy the basement next season.

Here is a clue, BE VERY CAREFUL how you answer because if he gets what he is asking for he will sign on the dotted line!!!

Its not IF its WHEN and b4 you accuse me of B-S and trying too wind you up, then here is another scoop to show you I am in the know!!!!

AVB has be offered the LIVERPOOL job and he is thrashing out a deal as we speak!!!

Also Roy Keane will be back in football by the end of May!!!

I thought PDC would be off soon, but I've changed my views on that, there is of course his contract to sort.
He seems to have learnt so much as a 'rookie' manager - and has admitted and corrected mistakes made along the way.

One thing I feel sure is that he now aware of his limitations and will in my opinion resist a leap up the league as a manager. West Ham are the obvious choice as he still has a 'God' like status there.
He has done so much for our club with his commitment and enthusiasm, I've never seen anyone like it before at Swindon, we have had the class acts of Lou Macari, Glen Hoddle and Ardiles but with respect PDC is something else.

From your angle it is all to easy to say CW must move on - the difficult bit is getting the right one in his place. We took one hell of a punt with PDC - and left ourselves very open to abuse and ridicule but he who laughs last eh !

I'm not in a position to suggest what your club should do, but it does come over as a very dour and uninspiring outfit.

Did you not hear that we spent 21 (of 31) seasons in the top two divisions? Have you heard of former Liverpool players Ray Houghton, John Aldridge, Mark Wright and Dean Saunders . Our modern ground s is the much better ground than your dump - isn't it? It is plenty big enough. Yep more money is going into your playing staff - lucky you. But w ain't poor by div 4 standards. Your pal talks about the 'class acts' named Macari and Hoddle - you know what fans of other clubs they managed thought of them. (go on start checking!!) (B) our winning the league Cup 3-0 (C) our 4 wins over Moanchester United (D) our failing to concede 100 goals (ho, ho) in any of our THREE seasons in the top flight? . Of course you did much better than us last season and have done so since long before 2001. Time for that to change, Mr Lenagan
Is it Darlington that have a brand new spanking all singing ground - - and look where they are in football .. Hmm perhaps its better to have a decent team first then brag about a decent / better ground in my opinion.

Think we win hands down on that - as for history - pure bunkum - look forward... not back !!!

I'd be embarrassed about a 3 sided ground too, but if finances and crowds determine that is all required what's the point other than stopping the ridicule.

The CG is dated but serves it purpose - plans are in the pipeline but will depend on our progress.

Grow up Oxford Yellow and as for Oldun - Shrewsbury are a L1 team what league are you in????? Thats it L2 and Turner is a better manager than Wilder who now admits his players arent fit - That sums up your club - amateur. Enjoy your summer Oxford fans you have Fleetwood to play in their massive 5000 capacity stadium-Wimbledon again-Barnet - Aldershot - so glad we dont have to go to those crummy grounds again and your three sided stadium.
Correct me if I'm wrong but a football pitch is a rectangle, therefor our ground has 4 sides. It's just we have 3 stands and a fence....
A stadium with '3 three stands and a picket fence' would have been better grammar I suppose.

all this comparing the yirtues of stadiums is pretty pointless, neither utd or stfc have not much to boast about in that department.it is not better to invest any funds on players as fans will turn up to see a good side in a poor stadium but not a poor side in a good stadium. if you can blend the two as brighton seem to have done ,all well and good but if you have limited resources then the team must always have priority.

LeGod and Oldun you sad little boys stop ruining this site (not just you there are others), its pathetic, one supports OUFC the other STFC, but both are as embarrassing to the human race as one another, so so so so pathetic. I'd like to smash your heads together until you're both an uglier shade of Swindon Red. Get off this site & get on with your homework. Sad.

Wish folk would read - even my boring stuff- I was not bragging about United's ground - I was retorting to your man's 'jibe' - it is big enough even if we get into Div Three and thus is more than adequate for Div Four . Please note that he (isn't he quiet on my response) was the one who introduced the "history" element ("NO history" was his risible assessment) . Yes, Swindon have dominated (except in results of the matches) for far too many years - and their ground is adequate for them next season. I will not be responding to those who misinterpret things. I remember cheering Swindon's great side through all the rounds to Wembley in 68-69 - happy days - but for me, nowhere near as happy as the three seasons 83-86

You are of course entitled to your view (others will agree with you) and you should not waste your valuable time either reading or commenting on what I say . Have a great day - I will do so - however SAD you or others might view it to be. I suspect you won't waste time with me or my opinions but if you do then my retort would be " commenting is a waste of my sad time"

ONE of the problems that OUFC have is the fact that ALL teams who come to OUFC Ground raise their game due to the fact its the Man U of the lower league.

Ground, Pitch and the Facilities are the best, just when teams go to Old Trafford, they up their game!!!

Well NEARLY all, SWINDON came and bottled the whole thing, AGAIN!!!!

I just love it that the Inbreeds are obsessed with OUFC and Oxford Mail website!!!

Every hour of every day they are looking at and writing on the OXFORD website!!!!!

100 people were asked where they would like to live if they had a choice between Oxford and Swindon

Only 33% Said Oxford!!!!!

The other 67% started laughing and asked if it was a joke question!!!

AB can always tell with you lot when the discussion isn't going your way - this old boring chestnut is wheeled out for the umpteenth time - and what it has to do with football is beyond me and probably every one but the likes of you.
Stick it on Tripadvisor if it bothers you that much, bore them to tears with it....

My god this old chestnut wheeled out of cupboard again - wasn't that funny the first time round, not only that what has it to do with football, must be the case you are losing the discussion again and trying to deflect the conversation again.
Stick it on Tripadvisor more suitable readers there.

People may think I'm boring, but I'm not the one commenting on here under 2 different names, I think you used the wrong profile this time, or have you stopped pretending to be an OUFC fan now? I should correct myself its beyond sad its pathetic and childish, and as I've said before, if you lot were brave enough to express your views in a REAL open public forum, like a pub for example, then you'd be ridiculed and probably beaten up!!!
