  • "I feel that Constable has lost his way a bit at OUFC, not sure either if the same relationship still exists between him and Wilder. This was rumoured on the Oxford boards last week, so no surprise. If we can get £200k for him, then let him go with our best wishes. I'm pretty sure that the club expected a bid to come in for him tha's why they did not put players on the open to offers list."

Constable rumoured to be a Bristol Rovers target

OXFORD United are reported to have received a bid for top scorer James Constable.

The 27-year-old striker is rumoured to be on the radar of npower League Two rivals Bristol Rovers.

Constable, who has scored 80 goals for the U's, turned down an offer to join Swindon Town in January.

United are yet to comment on the speculation.
