JIM Rosenthal has resigned from Oxford United's board with immediate effect.

The 64-year-old's decision is a major blow to the club, coming two months after Kelvin Thomas stepped down as chairman.

Rosenthal, one of the club's highest profile supporters, was invited on to the board by Thomas two years ago.

The exit leaves chairman Ian Lenagan and his sons Simon and Adrian as the only remaining board members.

Interesting news, I suspect it will have something to do with money, as these things always come down to. Shame for the club as Jim is a true fan and a gentleman as well. Hope we still get to see him around the ground and I'll always remember the Milk Cup final and 'that hat'

This is all starting to sound a little fishy. Jim it would be good, if you have concerns, to make these public. If you have a dad and two sons in charge of a club who have been doing a stalinist purge of all outsiders it could make a ripe breeding ground for some dodgy business to take place.

Maybe Lenagan feels he can do a better job without external executives? If Wilder goes and Constable is sold perhaps there's some leeway for a new manager to change a few things and reignite the season with plenty of time left. I feel change is on its way, just hope we don't have a fire sale instead of a fire starter.

Onwards and sideways...
