Adam Chapman went for a scan on an ankle injury yesterday
ADAM Chapman has become the latest Oxford United player to be struck down with an injury after picking up a problem on Tuesday night.
The midfielder was on crutches yesterday and the club will discover the extent of the ankle problem shortly following a scan, but it is thought he will miss tomorrow’s game against Bradford City.
Chapman played the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 loss at Cheltenham Town, only feeling pain afterwards.
It is yet another blow to a squad which has suffered a host of injury problems this season.
U’s boss Chris Wilder said: “It’s disappointing because Adam’s worked extremely hard to get himself back in the team.
“I thought he was getting fit and into a rhythm.
“Looking at him (yesterday) I think there’s no chance of him being involved at the weekend.”
Jon-Paul Pittman is also in the treatment room after suffering another hamstring problem just 13 minutes into the game at Cheltenham.
Wilder said: “Thankfully he’s not ripped it or torn it, but with the hamstring it’ll be two to four weeks, maybe even longer.”
