THE students of Oxford MCC Universities were victims of a stunning display of seam bowling by Jack Shantry as they lost by an innings and 120 runs to Worcestershire in The Parks on Saturday.
The left-arm seamer produced amazing match figures of 10-26 from 31.3 overs as the Universities side were outclassed.
Even though rain completely washed out the second day of this three-day, first-class fixture, Worcestershire still won with time to spare.
Half-centuries from skipper Daryl Mitchell and Tom Kohler-Cadmore gave them a lead of 215.
Then for the second time in the match, Oxford succumbed to Shantry, who took 5-8 of 13.3 overs.
The students’ top-scorer was Banbury’s Lloyd Sabin, who followed his first-innings duck with 26.
