ASHLEY Rump’s brilliant century for struggling Charlbury proved in vain as they lost by 82 runs at Westbury in Division 1.

The title-chasing hosts rattled up 312-4 in their 45 overs, with Paul Atkins hitting 75 not out, Tom Gurney 66 and Ben Rae 55.

Rump hit 125 in reply, but Charlbury fell to 230 all out.

Minter Lovell’s championship hopes suffered a setback as they were beaten by 55 runs at Great Horwood, who leapfrogged them at the top.

Horwood were held to 185-9, with Eddie Dunn taking 3-24.

But Minster then crashed to 130 all out, Haydon Morrison returning figures of 5-40.

Radley’s hopes were also dented with a shock 68-run defeat at home to Cowley Internationals.

Ishtiaq Raja top-scored with 98 in Cowley’s 195-8, and then Muhammad Adil claimed 4-22 as Radley were 127 all out.

Oxenford secured an important victory in their bid to avoid the drop, beating hapless Chadlington by nine wickets.

Aaron Hirtenstein (4-12) was the pick of the home side’s bowlers as Chadlington were shot out for 110.

Zain Iqbal then hammered 58 not out in an unbroken century stand with Junaid Aziz, as Oxenford reached 116-1.

Tim Wyatt hit 89 to help Stonesfield to a three-wicket home win against Shrivenham.

Wyatt’s knock saw Stonesfield home at 166-7 as they chased down Shrivenham’s 163 all out.

Conor Taylor claimed 5-31 for the visitors.

Chipping Norton took over at the top of Division 2 after a 17-run win at Witney Swifts.

David Brassett (52) led Chippy to 218-5, before Jim McGeown’s 3-30 helped to restrict the home side to 201-7, despite half-centuties for Kieran Foggett (57) and Andy Fisher (52).

East & West Hendred tied a thriller at home to Broughton & North Newington.

Broughton set Hendred 178-8 in their 45 overs, and the home side reached the same score with nine wickets down as Ivan Mulford hit 62.

Wantage won by six wickets at Clifton Hampden.

Barry Martin took 4-20 in Clifton’s 121 all out, and then Wantage eased home at 127-4, Richard Chapman hitting 41.

In Division 3, Nikunj Patel took 7-20 to help Tetsworth to a 22-run win at Wootton & Boars Hill.

Darshan Patel had earlier hit 52 in Tetsworth’s 155 all out, Damian Wiskin taking 5-30.

Nikunj Patel then took control to send Wootton tumbling to 133 all out.

Wolvercote went top after beating visitors Watlington by 108 runs.

Mohammed Shafqat (64) and William Humphreys (50) led Wolvercote to 206-5, before Barkat Ahmed claimed 4-33, as the visitors were shot out for 98.

Eynsham were skittled for just 59 runs in a nine-wicket defeat at home to Chesterton.

Skipper Paul Hammond was the chief destroyer for Chesterton with 4-9, before his side raced to 60-1.

Division 4 leaders Kidlington had no answer to Marcham’s Thomas Mooring, who inspired his side to a nine-run win.

After being shot out for 128, Marcham hit back with Mooring (5-18) helping dismiss the hosts for 119.

Stanton Harcourt maintained their promotion bid with an eight-wicket victory over Britwell Salome.

Visitors Britwell were all out for 116, despite 59 not out from Adam McConkey.

Joel Graham (51no) then led Stanton to 117-2.

Sean King’s 5-56 was in vain for Hailey, who lost by 79 runs at home to Deddington.

Chris May claimed 5-20 to help Kilkenny to an eight-wicket win at Uffington.

Division 5 leaders Sunningwell eased to a 75-run win at home to West Ilsley.

Sunningwell posted 213 all out, with James Stacey hitting 72 and Thomas Harris 52 as Peter Healy took a hat-trick in figures of 4-42.

Wayne Lyford then hit 91 for Ilsley, but they were bowled out for 138, with Ben Roberts (5-42) doing the damage.

Minster Lovell 2nd beat Garsington by 58 runs as Chris Morgan claimed 5-46.

Earlier, Ed Price (53) and Elliott Crowther (50) helped Minster to 191-8, before Garsington subsided for 133.

Adam Bennett claimed 7-41 to help Hook Norton to a 115-run win at home to West Witney.

Dan White hit 83 in Hook Norton’s 222-9, before Bennett sent West Witney crashing to 107 all out.

Division 6 leaders Westbury 2nd suffered a rare defeat after being bowled out for 120 at Faringdon 2nd.

Simon Cornish took 4-19 for Faringdon, before hitting 34 to take the hosts to 122-5.

James Hilliam’s 5-25 inspired Hanney to a 109-run win over second-placed Great Horwood 2nd.

There was a controversial finish at Radley 2nd, who lost by two wickets after six penalty runs were awarded due to a slow over rate.

Radley had posted 173 all out as Shoaib Ahmed hit 81.

Reggie Isaac hit 57 in Tetsworth’s reply, and with them still requiring two runs, the umpires awarded six penalty runs to end the game, the visitors finishing on 178-8.

In Division 10, Jason Lowe smashed a brilliant 117 not out to help Charlbury 3rd to a 180-run home win over Kennington 2nd.
