CHAD Keegan will face former club Henley on his debut for Division 1 title rivals Banbury tomorrow.

The 36-year-old South African has signed for the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League side until the end of the season.

All-rounder Keegan has not played club cricket for two years due to work commitments, but has still been affiliated with Henley upon his selection for Oxfordshire.

He replaces the injured Will Briggs (broken ankle) in the side, adding a further talking point to the match, with just one point separating leaders Henley and second-placed Banbury.

Captain Luke Ryan said: “He is a great addition to the squad and a good all-rounder.

“He is an exceptional performer at this level and his contribution around the changing room will be greatly received as well.

“It is a massive game and to keep it in our own hands we need a win.”

New South Wales batsman Ryan Carters plays his last game for Oxford against Slough at Roman Way before returning to Australia.

Skipper Ian Crosby said: “He is a top player and it’s a shame we have not had him all season.”

Andrew Clough is out with a hamstring strain, but Brad Sutherland is back, while Stewart Laudat is sidelined with a recurrence of his ankle problem.

All-rounder Adam Price returns for Horspath’s trip to Burnham.

The Australian is added to the XI who went down to a 72-run defeat against Henley last weekend.

Shahbaz Ali is expected to be fit to play after a hospital visit revealed he hadn’t broken his hand when fielding a powerful drive off his own bowling in that game.

With bowlers Pat Foster, Jamil Faruq and Lloyd Belcher hit by injuries, skipper Will Eason admitted: “It is stretching our resources at the minute, but we will see what happens.”
