LUKE Ryan is confident Oxfordshire’s cricketers will not feel the pressure against Wiltshire as they look to clinch a place in the Unicorns Counties Championship final.
Oxon’s fate is in their own hands after they opened up a 13-point lead in the Western Division, with a 266-run victory over Cornwall last week.
Victory in their three-day match at Devizes, which starts on Sunday, will book a place in the final against the Eastern Division winners on September 6-8.
And captain Ryan believes Oxon’s performance under pressure against Cornwall stands his side in good stead.
He said: “We were confident and did not let the occasion get the better of us.
“I see that ability to cope with a pressure situation as something we will be able to do against Wiltshire.
“We are in a very strong position, but know it could all change.”
Richard Kaufman returns from injury and replaces the unavailable Joe White.
Buckingham’s Jack Wilkins comes in for Will Eason, while Will Beer is on duty for Sussex in the Royal London Cup.
Jordan Garrett is included, but Oxon are still seeking permission for him to play from Gloucestershire.
