Great & Little Tew clinched promotion to Division 1 after their two main rivals Gerrards Cross and Amersham both lost on Saturday.

Andy Harris’s side, already assured of 20 points after opponents Dinton scratched their game on Friday, now need just three points from their final game at Shiptonunder-Wychwood to capture the Division 2 title.

Aston Rowant eased their relegation worries with a 19-run victory at home to fellow strugglers Cove.

Josh Smith’s side need six points from their final game at Gerrards Cross to be safe.

After being inserted, Rowant were given a flying start by Chris Watling and Andrew Tolson who put on 104.

Watling made 60 off 77 balls, while hit Tolson’s 75 came off 100 deliveries.

Smith added an unbeaten 52 from 66 balls as Rowant rattled up 259-7.

The Cove reply was dominated by opener Nick Farr, who hammered 91 from 111 balls, but Rowant claimed wickets at the other end, spinners Sasha Barras and Adam Muttitt picking up five between them.

Two late wickets from Wes Morrick dismissed Cove for 240 with eight balls left.

Shipton slipped into the danger zone after a crushing 157-run defeat at Datchetand need eight points against Tew to avoid the drop.

Datchet opener Steve Naylor hammered 133 from 145 balls as the hosts piled up 304-6.

Shipton collapsed to 47-5.

Charlie Miller gave Shipton hit back with 56 off 90 balls, but they were bowled out for 147.
