OXFORDSHIRE have called up under 17 player Ollie Clarke for their final Unicorns Counties Championship clash of the season at Banbury, starting on Sunday.

The Banbury youngster, who will be making his Championship debut against Cheshire, comes into an Oxon side hoping to finish the season on a high.

Their excellent win over Devon last week has given new confidence to the side after a hitherto poor Western Division summer.

Despite that victory, Oxon still prop up the table, while Cheshire are fourth.

Oxon are further boosted by the return of skipper Luke Ryan, who was absent from the Devon game through work commitments, having missed two earlier games through injury.

Ryan takes over the reins from wicket-keeper Jonny Cater, who did a good job in his absence.

The other change from the Devon game sees the recall of Great & Little Tew batsman Joe White.

Unavailable to face Cheshire are Banbury opening batsman Hugo Darby (work), Thame all-rounder Michael Beard (MCC tour) and Horspath’s Harrison Ward, who is playing for Sussex 2nd XI.

Oxfordshire team: Ryan (Banbury) capt, Bethell (Aston Rowant), Cater (wk) (Buckingham Town), Charlesworth (Abingdon Vale), Clarke (Banbury), Eltham (Oxford), Kaufman (Old Northamptonians), Keegan, Rooney (Thame Town), Sabin (Banbury), White (Great & Little Tew).
