SKIPPER Andy Harris is looking for Great & Little Tew to produce the bounce-back factor for the second time this season in the Home Counties Premier League season when they visit Banbury on Saturday.

Back in June, Tew entertained Banbury seven days after being shot out for 41 by Finchampstead – and gave their high-riding Division 1 derby rivals a big fright before rain intervened.

Tew fared better when they faced leaders Finchampstead last week – but only five runs, being humbled for 46, in a game that was over by lunchtime.

Now they must visit Banbury, who still have outside hopes for the title.

“Finchampstead’s bowlers have been running through most teams, but not as badly as us,” admitted a rueful Harris.

“I think we’ve learnt this season, that we will have to play positively against such attacks.”

The skipper, who adds seamer Lloyd Brock to his squad for the short trip, is looking positive for the derby clash.

“We bounced back well against Banbury last time.

“And I’m confident we can do it again, especially as this is a 50-50 overs game, which suits our players much better than the longer game.

Third-placed Banbury, meanwhile, will be without Oxfordshire opener Hugo Darby, who has to do some studying.

Brad Taylor comes into the side, with Craig Haupt likely to move up to open.

Skipper Lloyd Sabin is not thinking about winning the title, even though they are not far off the pace

“To be honest, I’ve not been looking at the tables, though I think we are third,” he said.

“We’ll just try to win every game.

“And if we’re thereabouts on the final day, we’ll go for it.”
