CRICKET: West hits maiden century

YOUNGSTER Daniel West scored his first hundred in Cumnor’s friendly match with Letcombe.

The 15-year-old hit exactly 100 as his side reached 203-5 in reply to Letcombe’s 266.

Club captain Alistair Lee commented: “Daniel was the player of the season for our Sunday XI in 2010 – not for any great heroics with bat or ball, more grit and determination and application, so it is especially pleasing to see some of that hard work paying off.”
