LUKE Ryan has not ruled out the possibility of former Australian Test player Tim Paine keeping wicket for Banbury again next year.

Paine, who hit four centuries, including a brilliant 152 against Burnham, joined the Serious Cricket Home Counties Premier League side at the beginning of the year, helping them finish second in Division 1.

The 30-year-old wicket-keeper/batsman returned to Australia after Banbury’s defeat to champions High Wycombe on August 22 to play domestic cricket for Tasmania.

And Ryan was full of praise for Paine, who may not have played his last match for Banbury.

When asked if the Tasmanian could return to the north Oxfordshire club, Ryan said: “There is that possibility.

“We have to work through a few things.

“He is more than happy to come back if the situation allowed it, but his priority is professional cricket in Australia.

“He left on really good terms.”
