CAPTAIN Luke Ryan believes Banbury will need to win all three of their remaining matches to stand a chance of winning the Division 1 title.

Ryan’s team are three points behind leaders Henley – the only team to beat them this season.

While the north Oxfordshire side still need Henley to drop points in the run-in, Ryan is certain that Banbury must win every game, starting tomorrow against fellow title contenders High Wycombe, to stand a chance of becoming champions.

He said: “The squad is in a good place and we are very confident we can get the 60 points on offer.

“Everyone has got to be consistent and confident in this must-win game.

“Three wins out of three is almost certainly necessary for us to be top at the end of the season.

“It is not in our hands with Henley being ahead of us but we definitely need to win.”

Opener Hugo Darby, fresh from his century for Oxfordshire earlier this week, comes into a squad of 12 after being unavailable for last Saturday’s victory over Oxford.

Horspath skipper Will Eason says his side must improve with the bat ahead of their match at home to Reading.

Eason’s side were beaten by 153 runs at High Wycombe last weekend and with only 20 points separating Horspath and the relegation zone, he is calling for his players to move up a gear.

He said: “Batting-wise we need to to step up to the challenge.

“If we are not batting first and setting a competitive total, then we have to set the game up well when chasing.

“We still need one more win if we are going to remain in this league for 2016.

“We’re going to give it everything in the final three weeks.”

Horspath make one change with Kit Cutter making way for Stephen Green.

Relegated Oxford make two changes ahead of their trip to second bottom Harefield.

All-rounder Mark Beer and off-spinner Shami Mendis replace Ian Evans and Adam Spears.

Meanwhile, Great & Little Tew will move to the brink of promotion if they can beat third-placed Gerrards Cross in Division 2 tomorrow.

And if other results go their way, the west Oxfordshire side could even secure a place in Division 1 for the first time with two games to spare.

Table-toppers Tew are 30 points clear of tomorrow’s opponents with three games remaining and 60 points available.

Although a victory would mean it highly unlikely Gerrards Cross could then catch them, Finchampstead could still challenge, providing they win their final three matches.

Tew captain Andy Harris makes one change from the side that beat Cove by seven wickets as Lawrence Brock replaces Matt Woods.

Harris said: “We are looking to build on the victory in last week’s team performance to take us into a big game against Gerrards Cross this weekend.”

Fifth-placed Shipton are also in need of a victory to keep alive their chances of promotion and face a crunch clash against Finchampstead, who are one place above them in the table.

Jeremy Kirby comes in for Andrew Hemming, while Matthew Brown replaces Craig Wood.

Shipton are 32 points behind second-placed Amersham, who travel to struggling Aston Rowant.

It is a big match for Rowant, who are deep in a relegation battle.

Josh Smith’s side are just two points clear of safety.
